Frequently asked questions

Can I edit the original text in a PDF?

PDF files store text in a binary format that cannot be directly edited like a Word document. PDF Editor overlays a new text box on top of the page. Use the Whiteout tool to cover existing text first, then place your new text box on top — the result looks identical.

What fonts can I use?

The editor includes Helvetica, Times Roman, and Courier — the three standard PDF fonts that work in every PDF reader without embedding. More fonts may be added in future updates.

Will the text position be accurate in the downloaded PDF?

Yes. Text coordinates are converted from screen pixels to PDF points using the page dimensions, so the position in the downloaded file matches exactly what you see on screen.

Is there a limit on how much text I can add?

No artificial limit. You can place as many text boxes as you need across as many pages as your PDF has.

Does it work on scanned PDFs?

Yes. You can place text over scanned (image-based) PDFs exactly as you would with text-based ones. The underlying scan is not touched.
